Dr. Dan Yedu Quansah is a CIHR Health System Impact research fellow at the Canadian Women Heart Health Centre of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Dr. Quansah completed his PhD in Cardiovascular epidemiology in 2020 at the University of Lausanne. Between 2017 and 2020, Dr. Quansah specialized in the field of Cardiovascular and metabolism and clinical research in women with Gestational diabetes mellitus. Dr. Quansah has an extensive international research experience in cardio-metabolic health and a special interest in cancer epidemiology spanning over 10 years. His research focuses on innovative and interdisciplinary strategies to improve metabolic and cardiovascular outcomes especially in women with gestational hypertension and diabetes and in minority women populations. Dr. Quansah has won several awards including the Korean Government Postgraduate scholarship for foreign graduates (2014-2017), Swiss Government Excellence award (2017-2020), Leading House African Research Partnership Grant (2021-2022) and the CIHR Health System Impact fellowship (2023-2025).


Research interests
The novel role of multidimensional lifestyle and psychosocial interventions in improving metabolic health outcomes, predictors and consequences of weight retention, and research on insulin resistance and secretion in women with gestational diabetes mellitus.
