Notice biographique (en anglais seulement)

I am a second-year MSc student in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management at the University of Manitoba. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with specialization in Aging, which laid the foundation for my current academic pursuits. My graduate research project aims at identifying the impact of preoperative physical activity on postoperative delirium in cardiac surgery patients. Upon completing my Master’s degree, I aspire to pursue doctoral studies in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Calgary.

My passion for heart health is deeply rooted in a pivotal personal experience of a close family member’s journey through a quintuple bypass. This emotional and impactful moment ignited my profound interest in cardiovascular sciences, serving as a constant reminder of the critical importance of heart health research.

Throughout my academic journey, I have been fortunate to have influential mentors like Drs. Duhamel and Arora in the field of cardiovascular sciences. Their guidance has shaped my path towards a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular health, which led to meaningful scientific publications in this domain.

Beyond the academic journey and as a woman myself, I am deeply committed to advocating for women’s heart health and the active engagement of patients and their caregivers in the research process. This commitment drives my aspiration to join this crucial national alliance to help raise awareness on women’s heart health and to make a tangible difference through the translation of important research findings.
